Early
Life
In Denver, on October 11, 1979, a child named Ben
Malone was born and the whole wrestling world would be turned upside down.
The oldest child of Brad and Elizabeth Malone, Ben grew up in Aurora,
a suburb of Denver. Living in a middle class environment, he enjoyed many
benefits, but his thirst for excitement brought him to the sport that
is wrestling.
Amateur
Wrestling
Ben was a little small for his age, being only 5'5" when he reached
15, but he was determined to reach his goal of becoming a pro wrestler.
He was an avid athlete in high school, playing football, track, and, of
course, wrestling. In his freshman year, he became the runner-up to the
state champion in his weight class. Amateur wrestling was interesting,
but he desired the pro class.
Unfortunately, no wrestling schools would accept him. When he turned 17,
he blossomed into a 6'2", 170lb person. He went back to the school,
and they signed him on to train.
Pro
Training
Immediately,
Ben made an impact. Innovating new, explosive moves, he quickly made an
impression on his many peers, among them, a young, naive Steven Lee and
a misguided Dave Dwyer. When he graduated high school, he made pro wrestling
his full time career. Not being able to sign on with any promotion, he
spent time being a delivery boy for the Bar & Grill down in Phoenix.
On February 2, 1999, all that would change.
